Key eventually wanted more than the G League grind. He wanted games with real meaning and real passion. He wanted to be part of a collective where winning matters more than individual stats. In Europe, he found that challenge, but adaptation was not immediate. He admitted early friction with coach Pedro Martínez at Valencia because European practices demand much higher intensity than NBA-style routines.
