With an arterial bypass road having been completed in Bulacan, traveling from Metro Manila to this neighboring province for quick getaways no longer has to be time-consuming. Among the many towns in this area, Bustos is touted to attract new tourists to its newly-opened resorts, one of which is an emerging family and barkada getaway at the heart of Bonga Menor called La Floretina Resort. Finally, local and foreign travelers from Metro Manila can have an alternative weekend vacation in the farming plains of this 14-village town.

Owned by a young and vibrant couple, La Floretina Resort is located where over a hundred mango trees currently stand and where a rice field used to be. With no trees felled in the course of its construction, the resort takes advantage of the farming plain to accommodate its Olympic-sized swimming pool. The vast space is also where guests can now have access to its seemingly endless rows of 100 nipa-roofed open cottages. At a strategic portion located away from the busy resort entrance and swimming pools, its modern-style villas can be found for relaxing, countryside overnight stays.

Check out these three amazing reasons why La Florentina Resort is an ideal venue for your next getaway in Bulacan:

1. It's 30 Minutes Or Less From Metro Manila By Car

With the Plaridel Bypass Road's initial completion in Bulacan, the travel time to reaching Bustos from Metro Manila has now been reduced to 30 minutes or less. While many locals have long endured the usual two to three hour-long commute by bus in the past, the historic town is now accessible by car for much less time than that. As a result, day tours for team-building or simple excursions with loved ones are now possible in this side of the province.

Should you still opt to reach the resort by commute, the EDSA-Baliuag route of the Baliwag Bus is still the most preferred type of travel. The bus ride takes around two hours and lets the commuter get off at the town proper of Baliuag where a tricycle ride (no more than 30 minutes in total) at the BuToda terminal past the old municipal hall can be found.

2. It's Spanking New and Ideal For Large Groups of Guests

La Florentina Resort just opened last March of 2017 which means that you can expect that all of its amenities are still in great condition. From its Olympic-sized swimming pool for adults, the row of 12 modern-style villas to its 100 nipa-roofed open cottages, the whole property is relatively brand new and shiny. Families with kids can even enjoy the two kiddie pools, with one being an aqua park which younger kids can appreciate. Bringing in of food is allowed and guests can also grill their own treats.

The resort is quite new that a secluded portion of it is currently under construction to accommodate more villas and swimming pool amenities as of this writing. There is even a plan to open a fully-operational hotel and a special events venue. As for other amenities, guests can rent an air-conditioned conference room for meetings and seminars while everyone is booked for the night.

The entrance fee costs only Php200 per head (kiddie and senior discount is available at Php170). For their convenience, day tour guests can simply rent either a cottage for Php600 or a 4-seater chair with umbrella for Php400. Those staying on overnight can opt to rent a villa for Php2,500 per night or try camping in a tent (great for six to eight persons) for Php500.

Overnight guests can rent a villa for Php4,000 per night. Check-in time is at 3:00pm and check-out is at 11:00am.

Guests can also choose to book between two types of schedule -- day tour and night swimming -- apart from staying on overnight. Day Tour is from 8:00am to 5:00pm while Night Swimming is from 5:00pm to 12 midnight and villas can be rented within these schedules for only Php2,500.

3. Perfect For Overnight Stays In Bulacan

Since Bulacan is fast becoming highly urbanized, the resort has been designed to imbibe nature. It hopes to attract nature-loving guests in Bustos and nearby places where trees are no longer visible and access to fresh air is starting to become scarce.

Guests on romantic getaways can appreciate the fact that the resort's villas are well-equipped with the basic essentials from air-conditioning, an LCD TV, comfy beds, cabinets to a spacious bathroom with toiletries. As a matter of fact, all villas are similarly designed to also appeal to solo or group of travelers.

The resort also has a food hub that serves local dishes for guest meals and a dining hall where guests can conveniently enjoy their orders during their stay. Available for orders are traditional Filipino dishes like Crispy Pata, Bulacan-style Chopseuy, and Bulalo. For breakfast, a typical Pinoy spread can include Tocino, fresh vegetables, ham and garlic rice. This means that you can also be booked at the resort and rely on its F&B facility for delicious meals.

There was a time when Bulacan only served as a souvenir spot where travelers buy native delicacies or the typical New Year's Eve fireworks. This 2018, though, the province has Bustos which is starting to emerge as a highly accessible tourist destination where people can actually stay the whole day or even the night at La Florentina Resort for a fun-filled getaway that's surrounded by nature.
