Not many hotels can complement their surroundings and hold their own unique charm against them at the same time. It's simply easier for some to blend in or stick out rather oddly. In the bustling commercial and business district of Alabang, the hospitality boom has given rise to Azumi Boutique Hotel, an essential landmark within the Madrigal Business Park that successfully keeps the city traveler on cue without dramatic impositions. The sensory guest experience starts at the chic lobby upon check-in and culminates at the penthouse where the boundless sky meets the edge of a roof deck pool.

Booked Garden Room
My recent overnight stay at its Garden Room lent itself to be a pleasant experience. Room features proved to be the standard of boutique hotels. At 47 square meters, the air conditioned guestroom was spacious with inclusions of a plush queen-sized bed, a daybed, a work desk that can also be a dining table, flat screen TV with cable access, safety deposit box, closet, kitchen sink and IDD/NDD telephone. It even has a microwave oven and a decently stacked refrigerator which most travelers on long stay can appreciate. Wi-Fi access inside the room was also strong. The garden balcony was a nice space for lounging in the late afternoon to catch the sunset, at night for a cuppa before bedtime, and in the early morning to gaze at the city's morning sky.
I was able to use the hotel's iron and ironing board to make my wardrobe spotless for another hotel stay that I was going to have in Manila the next day. I would advise that requests for such is done as soon as you are conveniently checked-in like I did so as to ensure that they will be available because they are only accessible upon request.
Apart from the toilet not having a bidet which some rickety resorts in the provinces have, I see nothing more necessary to enhance the bathroom because its glass wall alone was sensational enough to catch up on my TV series marathon while getting soaked in the shower.

Stunning Infinity Lap Pool At The Penthouse
Still bronzed from the summer glow of being in numerous beaches, I did not expect to soak up the sun again in Alabang. However, when other guests were submerged in cerulean waters 17 floors up the city skyline at the edge of a roof deck infinity lap pool, who was I to resist? The narrow swath of attraction mimics the artificial grass rendered on the floor of my Garden Room's balcony and it provides an expansive view of the district. From there, one can see the area's residential cluster at one glance and the nearby Alabang Town Center at another. Also can be visible on a clear day is the distant Laguna De Bay. While taking a whiff of the high-rise scenery, guests can also enjoy drinks at the roof deck bar which is just steps away from the pool. There's also a function room for special events at the same penthouse space.
It's a breath of fresh air to find out that the hotel has a nail spa for interested guests because it's something that appeals to travelers who are always out and about, not having enough time to venture out elsewhere to look for such a facility.
Meals At Romulo's Cafe
For a splendid dinner, I could have easily strolled to the neighboring commercial complex which has a lot of restaurants to choose from. However, I decided to test the hotel's F&B facility called Romulo's Cafe which was also where I enjoyed a room rate complimentary breakfast buffet the next day. Named after the great Filipino diplomat and journalist, Carlos P. Romulo, the restaurant exuded a distinctive ambiance that's reflected in the statesman's career highlights displayed on the dining walls. I zeroed in on a dinner order of Adobong Manok Sa Gata to imbibe the nationalistic vibe. Taste-wise, it was engaging as I finished the whole shebang that could be good for at least two people. It was that delicious. Unfortunately, the dessert of Strawberry Cheesecake was a bit of a downer because its crust was not as soft as I expected it to be.

Visitors and More
Although my cousin did not show up to be my roommate for the overnight stay, a friend of mine who's a resident of Alabang did visit to hang out. He advised that I try jogging early the next day because the scenery behind the hotel is pedestrian-friendly and great for such a morning activity. Tip: the hotel adheres to a standard schedule for visitors.
There are a handful of ATMs nearby for dispensing emergency cash as I determined and tested for myself.
For an upscale stay that's modern with your thoughtful reset still in mind, Azumi Boutique Hotel is a smart choice.
