An Alabang hotel stay was my lavish idea of a recent long weekend. Parque España Residence Hotel fit my staycation parameters in every way from its rustic roof deck space that holds a swimming pool, mini-garden, and restaurant to its fully equipped Two-Bedroom Family Room. Its interior’s European charm beckoned me to appreciate a few details like the living room wall’s colourful Spanish tile design and a modern set of bold and conventional lighting fixtures. The cheery hues of yellow, blue, and green juxtaposed well with the opulent patterns of gray and black. The mood was set. I was ready to stay still and just linger in luxury.
Bliss of A Temporary Crib
The decorative hardwood floor of my booked room enhanced my idle moments, sealing them as sensible hours spent away from home. Fully furnished with a couple of television sets (one at the main bedroom and another at the living room), a functional kitchen with refrigerator and a few cooking essentials, a common bathroom and toilet and a helper’s quarters (having its own bathroom and duty stations such as an accordion clothes dryer and space for ironing), the 90-square meter space served as my bliss of a temporary crib in essential Muntinlupa City.

A Weekend Hermitage
The lay of land in
where the hotel
stands may bore travellers who are draconian when it comes to cultural
attractions. There isn’t a heritage vitrine of sorts anywhere except for office
skyscrapers, upscale restaurants, and a few commercial hubs. If anything, most
establishments in the area, including the hotel, won’t compel pedestrians to be
running from one location to another anyway. With a hefty patch of green
filling unoccupied lots in Alabang’s central business district, it was easy to
accept the hotel as one’s weekend hermitage which I did. Filinvest Corporate
Splendid Roof Deck
With so much time on my hands, I scaled the hotel’s 19 floors aboard its Spanish tile decorated elevator to revel in pleasantry with other guests at the roof deck. I had a mango drink at the hotel’s rustic restaurant that’s called Bistro Del Cielo and had a quick dip at the swimming pool where the unobstructed view of the urban center looked spectacular.
My Restful Sleep and The Morning After
At night, the dazzling district faded into a few garish high-rise buildings and the rest of the city was ready for a restful sleep. With plush pillows and beddings, I definitely got well rested enough to wake up in time for the 6:00am breakfast buffet at the restaurant where I got a good fill of crunchy dilis like it was bacon. The fascinating sunrise at the roof deck had me extend my cuppa session of brewed coffee and cupcake at the poolside area minutes after.

I found my booked room’s Wi-Fi internet access to be as satisfying as finding charming room inclusions like the digital alarm clock’s iPod dock and other personal hygiene essentials for long stays (shaving and vanity kits). Next to the lobby, there’s even a fitness center.
I was glad to find out that the hotel offers free shuttle services to selected commercial establishments for guests. For that matter, I scheduled a ride to the nearby Festival Mall upon check-out.
My booked room can be yours for the weekend for a promotional rate (“escape de fin de sama”) of P6,300 per night (good for four persons; inclusive of buffet breakfast). Check out its website for its other weekend and weekday promo rates.
