To be in the middle of the White Beach action in Boracay is a sought-after itinerary. At the fringe of Station 1, just a few steps from the surf and a stroll away from the busier Station 2 is the island's prime beachfront accommodation called Zuzuni. Named after the Greek term for little insect, the 13-room boutique hotel has all the persuasive Mediterranean inspiration guaranteed to make every nook and cranny a pleasant island getaway indoors.
Room View and More
I was also able to view the calm Boracay shoreline from the comfort of my hotel stay. At the same time, since I love people-watching, I got to essentially observe sexy creatures without being intrusive from the same vantage point. Somehow, it let me wistfully pine for the mad island crowd a few semi-indoor moments more before hitting the beach.
The room I stayed in was furnished with a 39″ LED cable TV, a nifty closet, and safety deposit box. Its bathroom had access to hot and cold shower and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access that was also strong at the balcony where I worked on some of my travel articles during my stay.
At the center of every buzzed about anticipation, the boutique hotel is a 20 to 30 minute stroll away from the nearby Diniwid Beach and 15 minutes of brisk walking from the island's popular D'Mall. It's conveniently accessible to a lot of other attractions. As a matter of fact, it was from the same hotel where I made a side trip to the Zetro ATV and Buggy Adventures site for an adventure ride of the Segway.

Spanish Cuisine By The Sea
For meals, I decided to try its authentic Spanish cuisine F&B facility called Cozina where I had the lusty Tuna Lasagne that seemed to have been meticulously prepared with light tomato and white sauce. The addictive pasta tasted sublime and Zuzuni is fortunate to have Chef Jordi Martinez Pacheco at the helm of stuff in its kitchen. My companion had a remarkable plate of soya-marinated baked chicken garlic that was served with fries.
Our room rate-inclusive breakfast had us indulge in traditional Filipino dishes. I had mine over a plate of two no-fuss sunny-side ups and tasty tocino. My low-key morning starter was enhanced with a view of island guests passing by in different directions in all their topless and top-loaded glory.
Take Advantage of Discounts
Interested island visitors can book six months in advance to get 25% off the published room rate. The hotel also offers 40% discount for corporate accounts.
A Beachfront Room with Balcony, a standard or premier, can range between P4,500 and P5,500 on lean season (June 1-October 15). It can go up to a thousand pesos more on high season (October 16-May 31). The Loft with Sea View has the same rate as a standard Beachfront Room while a Standard Non-Beachfront Room is a thousand pesos less. Rates are good for two persons with complimentary breakfast. For more information about rates that include more than two persons, visit the hotel's official website.
For a quintessential Boracay experience that's made of intense sparks, Zuzuni Boutique Hotel surprises in so many ways. Sometimes, the location of a getaway is all that matters to experience everything else.
