Finding a wellness sanctuary in the tropical archipelago of the Philippines is easy-peasy. There's at least one spa or massage facility in every city or town in the country. In Pampanga's Angeles City alone, every block is an endless ring match for space against another essential tourist-y activity -- dining out. The crucial stroke of relaxing splendor is when you find that oasis that does not only render soothing aesthetics, but also interesting services.
Here are a few tested establishments to try and make repeat visits of this year:

1. Overnight Relaxation At Abe's Farm In Pampanga
Just outside of Angeles City is Abe's Farm. The Magalang-based resort and museum property also offers relaxing massages to go along splendid overnight stays. Pursuing pleasant pleasures can definitely be more than one hour or so at this sprawling and highly vegetated space. The lush greenery is enough to usher any guest into a mindset of passion for purity. It helps that the place has a swimming pool and an exciting restaurant that serves lusty Kapampangan-oriented meals.

2. The District Boracay's Upperhouse Spa
When you're having a tropical reset in Boracay, you can take advantage of a soothing massage at The District Boracay's Upperhouse Spa. Experience the height of relaxation at the resort's newest facility which officially opened last December 15, 2015. Indulge in various treatments that are designed to promote luxurious island pampering and deep relaxation. Its invigorating signature Upperhouse massage features Hawaiian Lomi Lomi strokes.

3. Cavite's Source of Sweet Relief Via Sonya's Garden
Just a 30-minute bus ride away from the city proper of Tagaytay is Alfonso's quaint Buck Estate village where flowers are in full bloom most of the time. A 15-minute tricycle ride away from the highway is Sonya's Garden where one can have a tranquil stroll inside a patch of flora.
Inside one of the villas at the property, I was able to test its Hair Spa and Scalp Massage, plus the sought-after Facial Spa. I enjoyed treatments that were mildly performed as the therapist used natural herbs, oils, and fragrances (vanilla).

4. Finding Serenity In Quezon City's Soneva Spa
There's a popular notion that a good massage is only done by masseurs or male therapists and the Olympics's rich history attests to this. The science to having a thorough experience is as meticulous as any sport. However, I've tested a Tomas Morato-based spa to prove this prevailing opinion to be not entirely true. Female therapists can render soothing massages and I've tried a Balinese Herbal Detox and a signature 2-hour massage (inclusive of a jade stones) at Soneva Spa to be inspiring after each session. The facility does not have male therapists and it has so far done the business just fine because patrons are satisfied.

|White Palace Spa Deluxe Branch|
Like a well-kept secret, personal reviews about White Palace Spa's signature massage (a combination of Swedish, Shiatsu, and Hot Pack) started to spread in the vicinity of Makati City and nearby locations. Curious young professionals and couples even travel from neighboring cities just to avail of the 1 hour and 15 minutes service which has been a favorite also of the spa's patrons in its three Paranaque branches.
With the opening of its latest deluxe branch in Paranaque City, the area across Coastal Mall is now officially a wellness destination. All of its other branches in Makati City and Mandaluyong City have trained male and female therapists for guests.

6. Sorsogon's Relaxation Spot Via Siama Hotel
Bicol offers the ultimate space for getting pampered -- in the middle of a coconut plantation! And I'm not kidding when I state here that the cocoon of a spa that Siama Hotel has in store for guests is made of bamboo. The experience of getting a massage surrounded by tall coconut trees and the wafting of rural breeze on one's skin is made spectacular in Sorsogon City. A lap pool is always nearby within the vast estate for that much needed dip.

7. Pampanga's Midori Clark Hotel and Casino
I had the chance to try the newly-opened Midori Clark Hotel and Casino's spa where I had a soothing Shiatsu massage which commenced after a relaxing foot scrub in one of the facility's rooms for body treatments. It's also where guests can have the spa's Luxurious Manicure and Luxurious Pedicure which can be considered as attractive services for those who are always on the go from one to destination to another. Travelers on layover at the Clark Freeport Zone can make this a soothing stopover in mainland Luzon.

|Terra Wellness Spa of Discovery Shores Boracay|
8. Terra Wellness Spa (Boracay, Aklan)
After a tiring ATV ride (a great outdoor activity to do inland) at the nearby Zetro ATV & Buggy site or a beach stroll in Boracay's White Beach, you can opt to relax at Discovery Shores' Terra Wellness Spa. A refreshing lemongrass drink makes for a soothing prelude to a relaxing massage at this wellness facility.
I'm yet to explore more wellness facilities nationwide next year and I find it attractive to finally test this cliff-side spa in Antipolo soon. I also want to try the caliber of massages that spas in the north can render. I'm looking forward to adding more essential wellness hubs to this list so that you can also enjoy a much needed relaxation in between travels.
Truly, there's always time for a great massage anywhere in the Philippines.
