Emerging in Roxas City is Pueblo De Panay, a progressive inner-city of Capiz. The verdant township was the venue for my "I Love Capiz!" Blog Series Tour's afternoon cuppa. The exact location was the newly-opened Cafe Terraza, a charming restaurant that's part of El Circulo Convention Center that sits on a hill overlooking a side of the city that's normally not visible from the usual landmarks near the city plaza and bridge.
Scenic View Escape
Cafe Terraza is a hilltop haven that caters to locals and tourists who want to escape the conventional landscape of Roxas City. Finally, dining over Filipino-Western dishes in this side of Capiz comes with a scenic view of the place that rivals the breathtaking views of Tagaytay City. Endowed with a rolling and verdant terrain, Pueblo De Panay offers Cafe Terraza guests a lot of picture-perfect opportunities.
A Cuppa With Cookie
Checked-in at the nearby Urban Manor Hotel that's within the premises of the sprawling 400-hectare mix-use development, I headed to Cafe Terraza for a cup of coffee. I got giddy seeing a free cookie come with the order. Seated on a comfy chair that rests on a patch of green, I found solace from all the seafood degustation that I've been having for the past couple of days of my stay in the city. The breeze was a refreshing embrace to my sun-kissed skin that I had a day before at the city's San Antonio Resort.
For those who want to have a filling meal, the restaurant also serves the best dishes that the city can offer. Comfort food like a bowl of molo soup can be had also at the dining venue. An order of such comes with free pandesal!
Tourists are also expected to visit the soon-to-be finished Shrine of The Sacred Heart of Jesus that's being erected to be a channel of blessing for the city. The 120-feet shrine is touted to be a spiritual sanctuary as it's being built on top of the highest peak of a mountain inside the township.
A Revisit In The Offing
For my revisit of the restaurant next year for more than a cup of coffee and a cookie, I certainly will love to experience another hotel nearby -- Hotel Veronica.
Visitors of Pueblo De Panay can now ride the Pueblo Libot, a jeepney commute that plies the winding roads of the township with El Circulo Convention Center and Cafe Terraza as route stopovers. Guests can find the ride at the Robinsons Place-Roxas that's near the corner of Roxas Avenue and Immaculate Heart of Mary Avenue.
