Gone are the days when tourists get lost in Central Luzon and find themselves stranded in Tarlac to find out that they've checked in at Microtel Inn and Suites By Wyndham-Luisita. These days, locals and foreigners alike are certain to arrive in the province with the hotel as base for more than a day of gastronomic and abandoned adventure. It's what I recently did. I designed my "I Love Tarlac!" Blog Series Tour with the Wyndham Group hotel in mind for a reliable and comfortable stay as I hopped around from one destination to another, experiencing that best of a little bit of Pangasinan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Zambales in Tarlac.

"I Love Tarlac!" Blog Series Tour

My tour itinerary had me fixed on an organic meal at Good Earth Garden Cafe which was a 20-minute hired tricycle ride away from the hotel, an adventurous ATV ride at the Capas ATV Adventure site where the hotel shuttle graciously took us, a satisfying dinner at the nearby Kart City's Chap's Cafe and Diner, and an educational tour of the JSJ Goat Farm in Gerona. At the center of it all was my convenient Suite Room stay at Microtel Inn and Suites By Wyndham-Luisita.

Along for the immersion of Tarlac were fellow bloggers Ramil and Edgar of PinasMuna.com and Mervin of PinoyAdventurista.com who also stayed at the hotel.

A Pioneering Presence

With 13 properties across the country, the international chain of hotels pioneered its presence in the Philippines via the Hacienda Luisita branch 14 years ago. One can sense the wisdom in the foresight of the people behind the venture. Beyond the boring plains of the recent past, the province is now experiencing a boost in tourist visits. As early as the onset of the new millennium, Microtel already knew that its 50-room inn would be a witness to lavish memories of special occasions and exciting travels such as mine.

Consistency Was Key

As with all Microtel branches, the one in Tarlac did not disappoint. It did not even have to impress me unnecessarily. All it had to be was to remain consistent with the basic amenities that any traveler like me would need -- an automatic hairdryer and clean towels after a refreshing bath, a spacious bathtub for lounging the night away, access to coffee and other flavored drinks aside from the coffee-making machine and mini-refrigerator inside my Suite Room, a reliable flat screen cable TV and radio clock, a pleasant alcove seating view of the surrounding greenery and comfortable chiropractor-approved mattresses. Truly, this branch was reflective of its brand.

Suite Room Buffet Breakfast

My accommoda-
tion at the hotel was inclusive of a buffet breakfast which I had as early as 6:30am since I was supposed to research online about the specific location of JSJ Goat Farm in Gerona before the 7:30am call time. Amazingly, I enjoyed my basic morning meal of strawberry jelly-buttered toast, a plate of sausage, scrambled eggs and tocino, and a cup of coffee as I breezed through the Wi-fi at the lobby where the buffet dining area was temporarily set up.

Reliable Security

During my stay, I considered the hotel my home away from home as I felt secure with my room being equipped with an electronic card entry and automated fire safety systems. It is rare to find other budget hotels in the country that invests in such technology.

All in all, my overnight stay was adorned with fond memories of culinary and ATV ride adventures. The whole experience was complemented by the distinction that Microtel Inn and Suites By Wyndham hotels are known for -- function, comfort, and convenience at quality international standards.
