I love milk tea as much as I love living in Metro Manila. I'm blessed to have numerous milk tea stores in any city in the National Capital Region. Nowadays, even residential areas have at least one hub that sells the refreshing product in a neighborhood.
Microtel Suites By Wyndham-Mall of Asia as my hotel base, I did not have to go far beyond the Paranaque-Manila fringe to look for one. My hotel is located near the Manila Bay. I was on a 2-day hectic schedule of various food-tasting and cultural immersions. I was feeling edgy towards my tour's 1st day. I figured that only a comfort snack or drink can soothe my worries away.
Soothing The Edge
Right behind a gas station in a commercial complex called the Aseana Power Station, Lemon Baby is conveniently located with enough chill out space to make long milk tea sips dreamy. I discovered that the milk tea store is one of the latest brands that effectively blend the oriental tea culture with western coffee drinking practices.
The Tea Machine Secret
Immediately noticeable upon my entry to the store was Lemon Baby's trusty fresh tea machine, a main feature I suppose. I was informed that the technology was from Germany and took one year and nine months of research and development to manufacture. Add to that, the machine shares a similar purpose with an Italian coffee machine. With a little more than 10 seconds to boil and extract from tea leaves, ordering a flavor in its most fresh form is a cinch. One can confidently expect that every single cup of tea is made from the moment they're ordered. The technique is to shorten the timing and high pressure method of preparing it to prevent the tea from being astringent and sour. The result? A refreshing and flavorful Lemon Baby drink!
I had the bestseller called Cake Milk Tea. At first, I thought I was going to choke by the thought of drinking cake as a milk tea flavor when it was recommended to me by the store crew. I did not hesitate anymore after he assured me that almost every kid or adult who visits the place orders it in a large version. Soon, after taking a few sips of that flavor, I realised that a big cup is, indeed, necessary.
I also tested a few more flavors to know more about Lemon Baby. There are several options actually. One can go for smoothies like the Mango Orange Yogurt or the Red Bean. Maybe you're in the mood for a milk shake. Well, the store also has that in French Vanilla, Oreo, and Strawberry flavors.
I will drop by soon again for more of the tea drink flavors and another slice of that yummy chocolate cake for snack.
