Quezon City’s New Manila is known for being the residence of the old rich. As the years progressed, more unconventional dwelling places such as townhouses and condominiums were developed in the area for new residents.

It was inevitable for a sophisticated and modern urban enclave such as the Robinson’s Magnolia Residences to rise in the area. Its name was no accident. It’s located in the same spot where the old Magnolia House once stood. Most adults in the metro can recall that a school field trip was not complete without a visit to the ice cream factory.

This year and in the years to come, the good feeling of amusement and surprise can still be had in the area with the presence of the Magnolia Flavor House. Participating in the recent City Food Picks at Robinson's Magnolia Mall, I was able to try a variety of meals and snacks that did not require me to hop from one city to another. Inside the mall, I was able to experience what it was like doing a food trip sans the wheels. Via the walk tour which was led by food connoisseurs Anton Diaz (Our Awesome Planet) and RJ Ledesma (Mercato Centrale Group), I finally had the chance to revisit the Magnolia factory of ice cream flavors. The factory is now a hub within the commercial complex and the vintage feel of the '70s is somewhat evident in the interiors.

At the Magnolia Flavor House, walk tour participants feasted on an array of ice cream selections with names like the Tropical Trio (three scoops that are reminiscent of the faithful sorbetero probably), Mango Royale, and the superhero-inspired flavors like the Amazing Batman's Brownie Overload and Thor's Almighty Crepe.

Ever thought of owning a 36 to 43-square meter or 57 to 92-square meter condominium unit at the Robinson’s Magnolia Residences? Why not make it a reality and experience the wonderful food tour that the City Food Picks participants had on a daily basis next door and in the middle of the Magnolia Town Center!

What’s more, the luxe address is accessible to Greenhills (San Juan City), Makati City, Cubao (Quezon City) and the Ortigas Center in Mandaluyong City. Most importantly, the enviable location is near two top hospitals (St. Luke’s Medical Center and Cardinal Santos) and prestigious schools such as St. Paul University, Xavier School, Immaculate Concepcion Academy, Jubilee Christian Academy and La Salle Greenhills.
