I've tried a lot of affordable luxury resorts in Luzon and nothing compares to my infinity pool experience at Acuatico in Batangas. The resort is 3 hours only from Metro Manila. It's located in Laiya, that strip of long shoreline that most Filipino families have probably visited.
A stay in Acuatico is more expensive compared to neighboring resorts in Laiya and it should be that way. The resort garden is well-manicured. The accommodations are cleverly designed to make use of small spaces. The villas from the outside all look inviting and good for picture-taking. Each villa is angled for you to see the ocean from your window.
Food at the restaurant is done gourmet-style. Most of all, Acuatico's infinity pool is top-notch. It's always clean and it stays lukewarm the whole day knowing that it gets cold early in the morning or in the evening. I was in the pool almost the whole time of my stay.
Getting There: I rented a car for this trip because there is no direct commute to it. However, if you need to rent a more affordable mode of transportation, all you need to be mindful of is the way to the resort from Manila. Click here for the route.
